I bought the Genie Dome because the only location in the laundry room that would work for the cat genie was right in front of my washing machine (I didn't want dropped clothes to end up in the cat genie). It was a little tricky to assemble as the plastic didn't seem to fit together quite as easily as the instructions showed this step to be but after some twisting and bending I was able to snap the two halves of the dome together. Once it was assembled it fit very easily into the notches on the sides of the cat genie. A few things to note though...first, the dome doesn't actually latch onto the sides of the cat genie walls as it just sets in the notches in the walls to the cat genie. The reason I mention this is because I have 2 large cats and when they are getting in/out of the dome the dome easily comes up out of the notches and then falls into the cat genie bowl (I've since found a work around to this by using Velcro strips to hold it in place). Another issue is that since I do have two larger cats the opening is not really big enough for them so they sort of have to 'squeeze' through the opening to get through. I also bought the optional swingdoor for it but had to end up removing it since it took up even more space in the opening. If you have a small/average sized cat this is a great product and I would highly recommend it, however for the larger sized cats please take note of the size of the opening and the fact that there are no latches to hold it down into place.
